 Transition to the City of Sandy Springs

In June 2005 Sandy Springs residents overwhelmingly voted to incorporate, thus becoming the 7th largest city in Georgia. Elelctions for a new mayor and city council took place on November 8. The new city took effect December 1, 2005.

• The site of the new City Hall is 7840 Roswell Road in the Morgan Falls Office Park. The office park is one mile south of Northridge Road and about one half mile west of GA-400.

• Sandy Springs City Council meetings are scheduled for the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m., at the future site of city offices 7840 Roswell Road in the Morgan Falls Office Park.
  
  
  
• City now provides building inspections for permits issued by Fulton County
  
  
• The city will contract in 2006 with the Fulton County Tax Commissioner's Office to continue to provide business license, alcohol license, taxi cab license, adult entertainment license and property tax services.
