Making the Future our Responsibility
Leadership Sandy Springs was founded in 1986 to identify leadership potential in our community and rally those individuals for community action and improvement. Originally sponsored by the Sandy Springs Chamber of Commerce, it is now a separately chartered non-profit organization governed by its own Board of Trustees.
Each year, Leadership Sandy Springs forms a class of individuals with diverse backgrounds who have demonstrated a high degree of community involvement and commitment. The organization's mission is to "identify, educate and develop emerging Sandy Springs leaders and encourage their participation in addressing the needs of our community."
Through a carefully planned series of program days and activities, participants learn about the Sandy Springs area, interact with elected officials and community leaders, and study issues facing our changing community. Leadership Sandy Springs has close ties with many community organizations and collaborates on many community initiatives and projects.
