Business District Street Cleaning and Maintenance Program
SSPC implemented and administers a program to keep the streets of the business district clean. Funded annually by Fulton County, the program provides weekly street cleaning, trash removal and mowing of public land along Roswell Road from the Chatthoochee River to the Atlanta city limits. Flower pots and landscaping associated with the streetscape/sidewalks are also cared for. The program also cleans and mows monthly three interchanges on Interstate 285
in Sandy Springs.

sponsored by SSPC and KeepSandy Springs North Fulton Beautiful.
The street cleaning and maintenance program evolved out of one-day clean up event in May of 2000 when SSPC in cooperation with Keep Sandy Springs-North Fulton Beautiful and Fulton County rallied hundreds of volunteers and businesses to clean up and beautify the Sandy Springs business district.
"Big Sweep 2000" helped to bring public and media attention to the problem of business district maintenance. In the spring of 2001, SSPC secured public funding to "adopt" the Roswell/I-285 Interchange and the maintenance of the Roswell Road business corridor between Glenridge and Abernathy for a year. The program has since been expanded north to the river and south to the city of Atlanta limits and has added three interchanges along I-285 in Sandy Springs.
