In
her role as Community Planner, Chawnn Redden conducts research,
data analysis and GIS mapping for SSRI and SSBA projects.
She also assists with the implementation of transportation
projects such as the Roswell Road streetscape projects.
A
native Atlantan, Chawnn came to SSRI in March of 2000 as an
intern while completing her degree in Urban Policy Studies
from Georgia State University.
While at Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School
of Policy Studies she developed an interest in community and
neighborhood planning and revitalization.
Chawnn
works closely with the Sandy Springs Business Association
on numerous special projects
including the litter maintenance program for Roswell Road
for which she secured corporate sponsorship for the communities
“Big Sweep” cleanup effort held in May 2000.
Chawnn’s
professional experience includes seven years in the human
resources management. She
has worked for SunTrust Banks, Inc. and Zoo Atlanta, serving
as an employee relations specialist and a human resources
manager. She also
volunteers with Zoo Atlanta and the Department of Juvenile
Justice.
