2007 SSRI Board of Directors
 

SSRI is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by the organization’s membership at the Annual Meeting each September. Representation is divided among business and residential directors.

Business Directors:  According to the by-laws, one-half of the members of the Board of Directors shall be owners of commercial property or owners of businesses in Sandy Springs, or their designees, and shall in general represent business, development, and or commercial interests in Sandy Springs. 

Residential Directors:  One-half of the members of the Board of Directors shall be residents of Sandy Springs, and shall represent residential interests in Sandy Springs.

Community Director:  At least one of the members of the board of Directors shall be both a resident of Sandy Springs and shall be an owner of commercial property or own a business in Sandy Springs.

Board meetings: The board meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the Dorothy C. Benson Senior Multipurpose Complex, 6500 Vernon Woods Drive.

Meet the Board Members  

Michael Aldredge
Business Director

 

Mike Aldredge is Vice President of Real Estate & Investment Management for Aldredge Properties, which owns the Days Inn of Sandy Springs. Mike joined the SSRI Board in 1996, and participates on the SSRI Transportation Committee. He is also active in the Northwood Drive Property Owners Association which is currently working on a project to clean up and landscape the I-285/Roswell Road interchange.


Bruce Alterman
Business Director

 

Bruce Alterman is owner and proprietor of The Brickery Grille and Bar in Hilderbrand Court. He is an Atlanta native and a founding member of the Sandy Springs Revitalization, Inc. Board. As a business owner in the Roswell Road corridor, he is acutely aware of the issues affecting the business district.

James Anderson III

Business Director

Jim Anderson has a civil trial practice specializing in plaintiff’s personal injury, medical malpractice and property damage. He is a graduate of the Leadership Sandy Springs group that took on the Sandy Springs downtown improvement effort as its Class of 1987-1988 project, and served as the Chairman of Sandy Springs Revitalization, Inc. from 1993 to 1998. He is also a scoutmaster for Holy Innocents Boy Scout Troop 406, and was selected in 1999 by the Sandy Springs Society to receive their Spirit of Sandy Springs Award.




 


Roger Blichfeldt
Residential Director

 

 

A long time resident of Sandy Springs, Roger Blichfeldt is a past president of Glenridge Hammond Neighborhood Association. He joined the SSRI Board in 1996 and serves on SSRI Transportation Committee and Nominating Committee. Roger has served on many Fulton County, GRTA and GDOT committees. He represents Askew Realty Company in residential and commercial real estate leasing, sales and management.

Bob Begle
Business Director

Bob Begle is a principal and co-founder of Urban Collage, Inc. He has more than 13 years of experience in residential design and community planning including significant experience with the City of Atlanta’s pre-Olympic preparations. In his role as the firm’s primary designer, Begle has conducted a wide range of design and planning activities including urban redevelopment plans, community master plans, housing and feasibility studies, facility master plans and architectural design. He is the current chair of the Urban Design Committee for SSRI and also serves as secretary for the organization.


Bill Cleveland
Residential Director

Bill Cleveland is the current President of the Whispering Pines Neighborhood Association and has served in that capacity for three years. He serves on the Boards of Sandy Springs Revitalization, the Sandy Springs Historic Community Foundation, and the Sandy Springs Civic Roundtable.  He chairs the Neighborhoods Committee for SSRI, and in his capacity as VP of Programs for the Civic Roundtable is currently working on the development of a countywide green space and tree-planting program.  Bill is a Systems Analyst for AT&T.

 

 

 



Ron Comacho
Business Director

 

Ron Comacho is the principal for Communications Focus, a marketing and communications consulting firm.  He serves on the Boards of both Sandy Springs Revitalization and the Sandy Springs Business Association, and chairs the SSRI Marketing Communications Committee. Ron is active in his community, serving as President of the Cherokee Park Civic Association, a member of the Roswell/Wieuca Alliance, Vice President of the Georgia Epilepsy Foundation, and as an appointed member of the Fulton County Citizens Commission on the Environment.

 



David Corbin
Treasurer

David Corbin is the Managing Director for Trinity Advisors, LLC. He formerly served as the Chief Financial Officer for the city of Atlanta. David serves as the treasurer for both SSRI, and SSBA.



D.J. DeLong
Chairman

D.J. DeLong serves as the chairman for Sandy Springs Revitalization, Inc. He is a General Partner of DeLong and Associates, LLC a business development consulting practice focused on the composites and polymers industry. He is a 14-year resident of Sandy Springs. He serves on the Board of the Sandy Springs Conservancy, and on the Property Committee of Heritage Sandy Springs. He has thirty-five years of experience in the chemicals and plastics industry most recenlty as a general manager for BP Amoco. In Weston, CT he was elected to the Board of Education serving as chairman for four years, and was president of Weston Kiwanis. Graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with bachelor and masters degrees in chemical engineering.

 


 



Linda Juckett

Residential Director

 

Linda is a Sandy Springs resident and volunteers much of her time to the Sandy Springs community. She has recently served on the Board of Trustees for Heritage Sandy Springs and has been involved with the Riverside and Kinloch homeowners associations serving in areas of zoning, social activities and as a vice president. She is also a member of the Sandy Springs Society dedicating much of her time to raise funds for the Sandy Springs community.

Steve Levetan
Residential Director

Steve Levetan is president of Resource Services, an Atlanta-based consulting form specializing in all aspects of recycling. He serves as the Legislative Affairs Director for several states on behalf of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. He has been appointed by governors to statewide recycling councils in Georgia and Florida. Locally he serves on the board for Keep Sandy Springs North Fulton Beautiful. He is a resident of Sandy Springs.

 

 

Lonnie Mimms
Business Director


 

Lonnie Mimms is the CFO of Mimms Enterprises, a commercial real estate company with more than 100 properties in the metro-Atlanta area. He serves as the vice-chair for SSRI.

 

Cheri Morris
Commerical Director

 

Cheri Morris is a resident of the Stewart Drive neighborhood in Sandy Springs.  She chairs SSRI's Strategic Planning Committee, and serves on the SSRI Planning & Urban Design Committee. She is also Vice-Chair of the Fulton County Design Review Board for the Sandy Springs Overlay District. Cheri is president of Morris & Fellows Consultants, Inc., a commercial real estate and shopping center strategic planning, merchandising leasing and marketing firm. Her firm advises an international clientele on the full range of issues related to the generation of revenue for retail, office and mixed-use real estate properties.
